Douglas Segars (b. 1989) makes photographs that explore American life and its social landscape. Based in New York, his work captures and chronicles the nuances of everyday life in a documentary style. Recently Doug has been published by Fader Magazine, including a piece surrounding the power and politics of the black barbershop called Levels. Originally from Englewood, New Jersey, Segars received his degree of Bachelors of Arts in Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media at Temple University in Philadelphia in 2011. In addition to street photographs and portraits, Doug has done some commercial fashion work for brands such as Opening Ceremony, GAP and Ciroc photographing figures such as Naomi Campbell, Diddy, Priyanka Chopra, Edward Enninful, Adwoa Aboah, SZA, and more. Doug will be looking to publish work and collaborate on new projects that tell inclusive stories that connect and inspire people.
